Our kaftans are inspired by the traditional 'huipil' (pronounced wee-pil) garments, which have a profound cultural meaning in Mexican traditions and represent the stories of family legacies. Each kaftan is made on a backstrap loom with complicated brocades and is naturally dyed in an indigo hue to give the effect of tie-dye. It takes 27 days to finish each garment.

Our OLAS DE MAR kaftan is made in collaboration with our master artisans from San Juan Colorado, Oaxaca. A group of 35 talented women weavers, teenagers to grandmothers tell you their story through each piece.
